How to play Wordle
Wordle.gg is a free word game. You have six attempts to find a hidden five-letter word. After each guess, the tiles change color to tell you how close you were. Play today’s Daily puzzle, or switch to Wordle Unlimited for endless games.
- 1Type any five-letter word and press Enter. Your first guess is a probe: use common letters to learn as much as possible.CRANE

One puzzle per day, the same for every player. A new word arrives at midnight UTC and your streak counts consecutive days solved.

Wordle tips that actually work
Open with vowels and frequent consonants
CRANE, SLATE and STARE cover the most common letters in English five-letter words. The goal of the first guess is information, not a lucky hit.
Do not reuse gray letters
The on-screen keyboard grays out eliminated letters. Every gray letter you type again is a wasted slot. Turn on Hard mode in Settings if you want the game to enforce the hints for you.
Watch for double letters
Words like APPLE, SKILL or GEESE trip up most players. If a yellow letter refuses to fit anywhere, it may appear twice.
Think in patterns, not letters
Once you have two or three greens, list the words that fit the pattern before you type. Common endings such as -ER, -ED and -LY narrow the field fast.

What does Hard mode change?
Any letter revealed as green or yellow must be used in every following guess. It removes the option of “throwaway” guesses and adds an asterisk to your shared result.
Which words can I guess?
Any of nearly 15,000 accepted English five-letter words. The daily answers come from a shorter list of about 2,300 common words, so you will not need obscure vocabulary to win.
Can I play Wordle in other languages?
Yes.
