Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 September 2026. This policy explains what information Wordle.gg (wordle.gg) handles when you play, and why. The short version: there are no accounts, your game progress stays on your device, and we do not sell anyone’s data.
Information stored on your device
Your game progress, statistics and streaks, your settings (dark theme, hard mode) and a cached copy of the word list are saved in your browser’s local storage. This data never leaves your device and is not sent to us. You can delete it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.
Daily completion counter
When you finish a daily puzzle, your browser sends one anonymous request to a third-party counting service (abacus.jasoncameron.dev) that adds one to that day’s total, which is shown as the number of players who completed the puzzle. The request contains only the language and the date. No name, account or identifier is sent, although, as with any web request, the service can see your IP address.
Analytics
We use a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics service to count page views and understand which pages are used. It records aggregate information such as the page visited, referring site, browser type and country. It does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you.
Fonts and server logs
The site’s typeface is loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when the font is requested; see Google’s privacy policy for details. Like every website, our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs (IP address, browser, time and page requested) to keep the service secure and working.
Cookies and advertising
Wordle.gg does not set tracking or advertising cookies. If we add advertising in the future, this policy will be updated before it goes live and you will be asked for consent where the law requires it.
Children
Wordle.gg is a general-audience word game. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA).
Your rights
Because we do not keep accounts or personal profiles, there is usually nothing we hold that identifies you. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA) you have rights to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to processing. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
